Employees’ Feeling Appreciated and Respected Achieve Balance Between Attracting and Retaining Talents

As a successful business leader, you not only need to show employees that you value them. But you also need to communicate that in a way that they see themselves as appreciated. Because the employees’ feeling appreciated is the most crucial thing that may motivate them to do their best to improve their job performance. And achieve the best rate of productivity and achievement for them in the organization.

Employees’ feeling appreciated within the work environment is essential. And it mainly affects how long they stay in the organization and how long they can work. HR professionals spend much time reinforcing a culture of appreciation and respect in their organizations. Working to improve and take account of this feeling ultimately benefits the organization. And balances attracting and retaining the best talent while creating space for growth and innovation.

Show Value

It is important to show value as much as possible and express appreciation to employees in the way they understand best. As a successful manager, ask your employees how they would like you to value them. And create a list of alternative methods and strategies you can use in the future to demonstrate their value to the business and their appreciation.

Unfortunately, the main reason employees leave organizations is their manager. They do not leave their jobs but resign from their manager. So, when employees’ feeling appreciated by their manager for their efforts and their values to work. This affects the long-term in their interaction, integration, and continuity of employment and motivates them to provide the best performance. It is, therefore, imperative to improve the relationship between the manager and the employees by helping them understand how each demonstrates and perceives value.

You can show your employees more effectively that they matter. And you can also do better to assist them in knowing how valuable they are to the organization. As a team leader, you need to identify a variety of different ways in which you can show your appreciation for your employees. The following are, for example, but not limited to, some forms of demonstrating value and appreciation to employees:

1) Allocate Time

Many business leaders and managers may think that they are showing employees their appreciation by giving them a raise. Instead, these employees search and value their time with their leaders and managers, learning and gaining new things. Time is an essential resource because it is non-renewable. Therefore, as a business leader, you should invest time in effective communication with your employees. Whether to talk to them, have coffee, or visit their offices. Because employees’ feeling appreciated depends on it. Moreover, it contributes to creating an open and transparent environment in which respect and mutual appreciation between the superior and the subordinate. In addition, your keenness on this enhances cohesion and bonding with your employees.

2) Give Tangible Rewards

Giving employees a financial reward will not remain as engraved in their memory as rewarding them with other tangible things. Because the tangible rewards are equivalent to the value of the souvenir prizes. That remain engraved in their minds, suppose that a social, cultural, or religious event is approaching. Each employee will spend some money to celebrate it.

As an outstanding leader and successful manager, spend a portion of your financial rewards buying gifts rather than adding them to salaries. Send gifts to your employees’ offices or homes with a letter of thanks and appreciation addressed to each employee. As a result, they’ll remember that their leadership and organization care about their feelings. And try to share the joy of the occasion by sending these gifts.

So, as a future manager, focus on tangible rewards that are frequently used, offered, or enjoyed in the company of family or friends. These rewards remind the employee of the reason he got them, the person who granted them, and the achievements thanks to his efforts.

3) Tell

As a successful leader, when you tell your employees that you appreciate them, you tell them that you care. Your employees need to know that they positively impact the organization’s business. While it may seem simple, take the time to thank and appreciate your employees.

Knowing that telling your employees, you appreciate them not only improves their morale but also increases their happiness and yours.

4) Assist

To enable your employees to perform their tasks perfectly and efficiently, you must invest in their education and help them develop and grow. One of the most critical paths to show your employees you value them is to help them improve and achieve tremendous success. Thus, you have to help them remove obstacles or develop a plan for career growth and development.

Therefore, as a future manager, you must enroll them in professional and personal training courses and programs to enhance their capabilities. And pay attention to the professional development of each of them in a very thoughtful manner. Because this motivates them and makes them feel appreciated and valued by the organization. A successful leader develops his employees on his hands, gives them the experience and knowledge necessary to move forward in their career path. And adds value to him, the work team, and the organization.

5) Consult

Organizations that listen to their employees, consult with them, and care about their opinions achieve more satisfaction and loyalty than organizations whose environment is repellent and thus have an increased rate of discontinuity in work. As a successful business leader, respect your team member’s ideas and opinions. Please don’t skimp on them, and try to see things from their point of view. Even if their ideas don’t add anything to you, consulting and listening to them shows respect and appreciation.

A person who is closed to his opinions and who only listens to his voice cannot be a successful leader. Expand the knowledge base and enhance the culture of consultation, exchange of ideas, and knowledge transfer in your organization to grow, progress, and achieve success.

6) Celebrate

As an outstanding team leader, you must publicize your employees’ achievements that have contributed to the business’s and the organization’s development. Because recognizing employees’ effort by telling them “good job” is a good start, but it’s not enough. You should celebrate your employees’ successes and praise them, appreciate and thank them in front of everyone for their achievements.

It will certainly motivate them to achieve more outstanding achievements and increase their productivity in the future.

A positive and respectful workplace dramatically benefits the organization. Employees who express respect and appreciation are more satisfied with their work, more grateful and loyal to their organizations, and more creative.
